The Sydney company that runs OurDream, named as Coreflow in the ABC's June 20 investigation into apparent child abuse material on the site, now presents itself as Dreamerlabs. A new site, dreamerlabs.ai, signs off 'Makers of ourdream.ai' and says 'Fewer than 20 people. Millions of users.' and 'Under 2 years old, profitable from the start, with revenue up 6× in the last year.' Nothing was announced: Capital Brief reported the name on October 12 and wrote that it 'contacted Coreflow but did not receive a response ahead of publication'. The job board still runs as Coreflow, with engineering pay of 'A$400K – A$800K'. The Queensland police investigation and the eSafety review the ABC reported have no public outcome.

Character Technologies, Inc., the company behind Character.AI, filed a voluntary Chapter 11 petition in the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware on October 12, 2026 (case 26-11603). The company says the platform 'remains up and running', that 'your subscriptions remain active, and billing is unchanged for now', and that the court-supervised sale should be complete 'by the end of November or perhaps early December 2026'. Disney is the opening bidder at $20 million, for a 'non-exclusive perpetual license of certain Company intellectual property and certain Company claims': not the app, the brand, the chat models or the user data. 'If such a bid is unavailable, however, the platform will be wound down.'

On September 26, 2026, Kindroid rewrote its FAQ answer to 'Are my chats safe and private?'. The old answer said its encryption 'means only you and the AI can see it' and that 'Kindroid staff and devs will only see encrypted data in our database'. The new one says 'Access to our production systems is limited to a small number of engineers, and our support team can't see your chats', and that its servers 'do need to process your messages to generate replies'. Kindroid has not announced any change to how it handles chats.

Nomi is off Google Play again. Its Android app (ai.nomi.twa) was pulled on September 25, 2026, after, Nomi said, Google's 'reviewers lost access to their Nomi test account'; it came back on October 6 ('Nomi is back on the Google Play Store!') and was pulled again on October 16. Nomi's CEO wrote that day: 'It is the same issue with Google reviewers being unable to properly log in using Google's own oAuth', and expects the app back 'sometime next week'. The iPhone app, the website and installed Android apps keep working. The EU gap is older and separate: Nomi took its app out of EU stores itself, saying in January 'We voluntarily pulled the app ourselves.'

Between September 16 and September 22, 2026, Candy AI rewrote its homepage answer to 'Is chatting with an AI Girlfriend private and secure?'. It used to say Candy 'uses end-to-end encryption to keep all AI GF conversations safe and confidential' and 'Your data is never shared or sold.' It now says Candy uses 'industry-standard security measures, including encrypting data in transit using TLS 1.2+ protocols', and points to the Privacy Notice. That notice, in force before and after, says the content of your messages may go to third-party AI model providers.

CrushOn AI's terms of use dated September 22, 2026 let creators sell 'Paid Content', images, GIFs and videos that users unlock with Diamonds, the site's virtual credits. The same revision changed how CrushOn treats payment disputes. The July 2025 terms let it refuse every card and online account tied to a chargeback and ban the people behind them; the new ones say 'a genuine payment dispute alone does not justify an account-wide restriction'. The new text was not live yet when we read the page on the evening of September 22; we first saw it on September 27.
