AI girlfriend apps now sell 'live' cam shows and TV-style series. On two of them, the crowd watching is a number in the page code.

Candy AI's live cam shows always show about 550 people watching, because the page sets that number in advance. Each of its 12 cam pages carries a base viewer count of 550 and a fluctuation of 10 in its code, the same 550 an archived copy showed in August, and Candy's help center says the stream chat is 'simulated/AI generated'. Dream Companion, which added Dream Cams between October 17 and 22, sets its count between 120 and 480 around a base of 230 and fills the chat from a canned list of lines such as 'i tip every stream, no regrets', without saying so anywhere we could find. In our readings on October 30, GoLove AI's counts moved only on the five-minute mark, all seven streams at once, by as much as 111 viewers, and sat still in between. The cams are half of a wider move from chat to watched video: eight apps we track now sell TV-style series of one- to two-minute episodes, usually one or two free and the rest unlocked with tokens, at about $1 to $3 an episode where the price can be worked out.

We earn affiliate commission from every app on this page: Candy, Dream Companion, GoLove, Swipey, DreamGF, Secrets, ChatRoger and Lovescape through CrakRevenue, and CamSoda AI directly. It did not change what we report. How we work.

Candy Cams page: a row of AI characters each marked LIVE, among them LunaMoth, DianaDemont, BrielleFit, SpicyHot and QueenTropic
Candy Cams, logged out from the US, October 22, 2026. Each page behind these cards sets its viewer count at 550.

The 'live' shows, and where the crowd comes from

AppWhat it sellsThe crowdWhat the app saysCost
Candy AI Candy Cams: 12 AI characters marked LIVE, two of them twins of real performers (Mia Malkova, Sophie Dee). On the site by July 18 (archived copy). Every cam page sets the count at 550, give or take 10. We saw 558, then 554 a minute later. The chat sits in a page element named 'cams-fake-feed-wrapper' and shows made-up tips such as 'user827 tipped 10 tk'. The help center: 'all stream messages a simulated/AI generated'. Each cam page: 'All content and interactions here are AI-generated, fictional, and subject to our Community Guidelines.' Tips from 5 tokens. Private show 24 tokens a minute, 44 with a creator twin, 3-minute minimum: about $7.20 or $13.20 at Candy's own value of 10 cents a token.
Dream Companion Dream Cams: five AI characters marked LIVE, plus Dream Roulette. New on the homepage between October 17 and 22: 'New in Dream Cams: she's live now'. The server sends a viewer range with each session, minimum 120, maximum 480, base 230. We saw 228, 224 and 235. The chat is a canned feed the page fetches 50 lines at a time: '3 min minimum is nothing, youll stay longer', 'you havent lived until youve gone private with her'. Nothing. Neither the cam page nor the terms say the viewers or chat are not real users. 16 tips from 10 to 250 coins. Private shows are offered; the price is not shown logged out.
GoLove AI Streams: seven AI characters live (three on October 23), with tips, Extras and private shows: 'Choose actions, unlock Extras and take her private.' New between October 12 and 17. The server sends one number per stream, the same to every visitor. Every five minutes all seven change at once, by as much as 111, then hold still. Jessica read 177, 66, 41, then 132 viewers across three marks. Nothing on streams. The terms say only that conversations with its AI Companions 'are entirely fictional in nature'. Not shown logged out.
Swipey AI Live Duels: 'Duels are live battles where two AI girls compete head-to-head for about five minutes in front of a live room.' Viewers gift in Hearts; the top gifter wins 'a private live with her'. In our snapshots from October 2. The homepage data counted 110, then 112 viewers across seven rooms. Swipey's help text talks to real viewers ('Be respectful to other viewers.'), and we cannot tell either way. Nothing that calls the room simulated. Hearts; Swipey publishes no Heart prices.
CamSoda AI 'Play with me' live action on eight characters since July: pre-made video clips you unlock level by level. No viewer count and no chat from others. It is a one-to-one show, not a stream. 'Every AI girlfriend on Camsoda AI is built on the same chat engine we developed for live cam interaction at Camsoda.' Skipping a level costs 15 to 50 tokens; the smallest pack is 50 tokens for $4.99, so about $1.50 for the first skip.

Candy is open about the chat, in the help center, and quiet about the count. Its help article on Candy Cams, created August 25, tells you to 'Send a message to her to talk with her just like you're in a stream', and a one-line notice under each cam says everything there is AI-generated. Nowhere next to the '558 viewers' does it say the number is set in advance. The 550 is the same on all 12 cams, and it was already there on Mia Malkova's page in an archived copy from August 16.

Dream Companion's feed does more than fill the room. Its lines push the paid parts of the show: 'canceled my sub elsewhere, shes enough', 'you havent lived until youve gone private with her', and the 3-minute minimum line above.

GoLove's counts behave like a timer, not a crowd. We read its stream data every 15 seconds on October 30: all seven numbers changed in the same 15-second window around 00:05, 00:10, 00:15, 00:20 and 00:25 UTC, five minutes apart each time, and did not move by a single viewer in between. Katya went from 48 to 132 at 00:10, Rose from 123 to 50 at 00:20. A real audience arrives and leaves a few people at a time, at any second. Over those 21 minutes each character's weekly views moved by 14 or fewer, while the live counts read up to 177. Twelve requests sent in the same instant all got identical numbers, so the count is one value kept on GoLove's server, set by a method it does not explain. Swipey's duel rooms, read the same way, moved by one or two viewers at a time, which is what a real room does, and what a gentler simulation would do too.

Dondi AI marks 40 chat cards 'Live' with a number beside each one. The numbers have not moved since our first snapshot on August 3: Isabel, 21, has shown 836 in every one of our eight reads to October 22. Dondi has no video stream behind the badge that we can see.

Dream Companion's DreamCams page: five AI characters marked LIVE, Amelia 27, Lisa 20, Mary 30, Sasha 21 and Mia Sol 22
Dream Companion's Dream Cams, October 23, 2026: five characters, a viewer range sent by the server, a canned chat.

The one link to real performers

Lovescape is the exception, in the other direction. Its 'Watch live shows' link, in every snapshot since July 6, leaves for lovescape.cam, a Stripchat-run site with human performers: 'Welcome to Lovescape Cam! We're a free online community where you can come and watch our amazing amateur models perform live interactive shows.' Its records custodian is 'Database Administrator - [email protected]', and its terms give a Cyprus company number with the name left blank. That number belongs to Technius Ltd, which holds Stripchat trademarks, and Technius is registered at the same Limassol office as Warmtech Ltd, which runs Lovescape. A shared office address does not prove common ownership. Lovescape's own AI 'Live cam' is a separate one-to-one video chat.

Dream Companion 5 short movies, 26 episodes Episode 1, the next after sign-in 10 coins an episode (Premium, $11.99 a month, includes 100 coins) Its AI characters Between September 25 and October 2 (our snapshots)
DreamGF 3 series, 15 episodes Episode 1 20 coins an episode, or 60 for the other four Its AI characters October 8 (its launch post)
Lovescape 4 series, 20 episodes Episodes 1 and 2 (three played on October 17) 10 per episode, unit not shown Not named in the data First seen October 17; the data dates the series to August

The format is the vertical micro-drama of apps like ReelShort, and DreamGF says so: its launch post sets 'ReelShort and DreamGF Shorts both offer short episodic stories' side by side. Candy describes its own as 'short, AI-generated cinematic videos featuring Candy.ai characters in scripted scenarios' that 'Last for under two minutes per episode'. They are watched, not played: Candy's are 'separate from your chat conversations', and DreamGF's launch post says 'Chatting does not change the published video episodes.' Most offer a button to chat with the star afterwards.

Candy got there months before anyone else. Its Shorts page was up by July 3 and its cams by July 18; Secrets followed in August, and the other six between late August and October. Candy also runs the format for its rivals: DreamGF's Shorts page carries 'More series from Candy.AI SPONSORED' and a block of 'Live cams on Candy.AI, our partner site.'

Real adult performers are the premium tier. Candy's series featuring its licensed twins cost 30 tokens an episode against 12, and their cams 44 tokens a minute against 24. Candy says 'Every digital twin on Candy is created in direct partnership with and with the full consent of the creator.'

Per-episode prices look small, and they are meant to stack. A Secrets Premium month, $39.99 with 8,000 Moments, covers 16 locked episodes and nothing else. Secrets alone has 69 locked episodes out.

Age labels next to these formats

Age labels sit next to these formats, always stated as adult. GoLove's stream filters include 'Teen' and 'Any Age', its first live character is listed at 18 and tagged teen, and three of its seven series leads are 18. A Swipey character with a series, listed at 18, carries the tag 'Teen'. lovescape.cam, with real performers, has a 'Teen 18+' category. Candy's character filter starts at '18-21'.

Who doesn't have this

On the homepages our tracker read on October 22 there was no series or live format at Chai, DarLink, Dreamz AI, FantasyGF, HeraHaven, Janitor AI, JOI, Kupid AI, LusyChat, Muah AI, My Lovely AI, Nomi, OurDream AI, Promptchan, Replika, SoulGen, SpicyChat or Xotic AI. That is the homepage only; a format can sit behind sign-in. Kupid and Xotic both showed 'Reels' rails earlier this autumn and dropped them; neither was a series.

What to assume

Read a viewer count in an AI app as decoration unless the app says how it is counted. None of the four here that show a count does; two set theirs in advance and a third redraws all of its counts every five minutes. Tips and private shows are paid to the company, not to a performer, and the 'other viewers' urging you to go private may be lines the company wrote. Price a series by the whole run, not the first episode: at Candy's own token value a five-episode creator series costs about $9 after the two free ones.

How we checked

We read every page logged out from a US address between October 22 and 23, 2026: the cam, stream, roulette and series pages of each app, the data those pages load (series lists, episode prices, stream sessions), help centers, terms, and Candy's server HTML for all 12 cam pages. Viewer counts were read twice, minutes apart. On October 30 we re-read Candy's 12 cam pages and Dream Companion's session data (both unchanged: 550 and 10, and 120 to 480 around 230), and read GoLove's stream data and Swipey's featured duel every 15 seconds, plus twelve requests to each fired in the same instant. Dates come from the Wayback Machine, the apps' own changelogs and launch posts, and our tracker's homepage snapshots since July 6. Dollar figures use each app's own stated prices; where a token's dollar price is not public we say so. Every quoted phrase was checked against the saved page text before publishing. The full fact sheet, with a source for each line, is kept with our evidence.
