Candy AI: what it costs, what's free, and what it allows
Candy AI Premium costs $13.99 a month, $26.97 every three months ($8.99 a month) or $47.88 a year ($3.99 a month). Since the start of October the monthly plan's first month is $9.99, then $13.99. Premium includes unlimited chat and 100 tokens a month; tokens pay for images, voice, video and extras. A free account gets 5 messages in total.
What we checked: 36 pages on candy.ai, everai.zendesk.com, the App Store and Google Play, with the prices re-read from a US connection on 2026-10-02. Everything was read logged out and nothing was bought. We kept 90 quotes word for word (the receipts at the bottom) and a dated screenshot.

What we found
- The '70% OFF' sale never ends. The badge compares the yearly plan's $3.99 a month with the $13.99 monthly price, and it has been on the page in every snapshot we have taken since July 6. The upside is real, though: the yearly and 3-month plans renew at the price you signed up for. The monthly plan gained a $9.99 first month between our checks of September 27 and October 2, and the plan card says what comes next: 'Then $13.99/month'.
- Candy's own documents disagree on what happens to your tokens when you cancel. The terms, revised September 22, 2026, say remaining tokens 'will expire and become unusable' and cannot be carried into a new subscription. A help center article dated August 25 says cancelling 'does NOT delete your tokens' and the balance returns when you resubscribe. Going by the terms, spend them before you cancel.
- The refund window is 24 hours, card payments only, and a subscription refund is refused once you have used more than 20 tokens, however quickly you ask. Token packs are refused once any tokens are used, and a refund or chargeback removes your remaining tokens at once. EU and UK buyers also get a 14-day withdrawal right on the first purchase, minus what they used.
- Candy has no official app, on the App Store or Google Play; it is a website you can pin to your home screen. Two Google Play apps called 'Candy AI' and 'Candy Ai - Girlfriend' are not Candy's: their developer name is spelled with Cyrillic look-alike letters, and their package names belong to unrelated apps.
- The terms now let Candy charge a backup card if your main card fails at renewal, and you cannot remove your only payment method while subscribed. The September 22 revision adds rebates in bonus tokens for selected users who pass a spending threshold.
- Candy's Trustpilot profile has been removed by Trustpilot for going 'against our guidelines'. No review score exists there any more, so rival pages quoting a Candy Trustpilot rating are stale.
- The privacy notice (revised July 30, 2026) allows more access to chats than 'private' suggests: random QA sampling of chat content, human review of flagged content and 'other content associated with the account', human review of de-identified chats for training datasets, and third-party LLM providers receiving message content.
- Google Play still has two 'Candy AI' lookalike apps; since September 22 their developer name changed from 'Bovada Online' to '1xBet Mobile' (a betting brand name). One is really a love-quotes app from an individual in Vietnam. EverAI has no app on either store and tells users to install the web app instead.
- Age checking is self-declared by default (an 'affirm you are above 18' gate). Third-party age estimation or ID checks appear only 'as applicable based on your location', and the provider is not named.
- Candy is expanding beyond chat into erotic interactive video (Live Action), a simulated cam stream with token tips (Candy Cam), and 'digital twins' of real creators, which Candy says are made with their consent.
What Candy AI is
What it is: an AI companion chat app with ready-made and custom characters, plus AI-generated images, videos and voice notes. Platforms: web only. There is no native iOS or Android app; Candy offers an installable web app (PWA) instead. US App Store searches for 'candy ai', 'candy.ai' and 'everai' return no app from EverAI. Google Play's top results for 'candy.ai' include two apps named 'Candy AI' and 'Candy Ai - Girlfriend' under the developer name '1xBet Mobile'. These are not EverAI apps (on 09-22 the same packages showed the name 'Bovаdа Online').
One of those lookalikes is actually a love-quotes app by an individual developer in Vietnam, rated Everyone with 10K+ downloads, and keyword-stuffed with 'Candy ai' search terms. Candy.ai is owned and operated by EverAI Limited, a Maltese company (registration C107181) based in Santa Venera, Malta. Card charges show as 'EverAI', not Candy.
- Custom character builder: You can build your own companion (ethnicity, hairstyle, voice, personality and more). Free users get one custom character; after that, creating characters costs tokens.
- Image generation: Images are generated in chat or in a separate generator, paid for with tokens (free users get one image). (paid)
- Video: Video is made by converting a generated image into a short clip, plus a newer 'Build Your Video' preset tool; both use tokens. (paid)
- Voice messages and calls: Listening to voice messages and voice calls (beta) cost tokens. (paid)
- Memory: The site says companions learn your preferences through conversation; Premium Plus adds 20 memory slots.
- Live Action (erotic interactive video): Premium-only, token-gated interactive erotic video for selected characters, mobile only. (paid)
- Candy Cam: A simulated live-stream character you can tip with tokens or take to a private chat. (paid)
- Candy Shorts: Short AI-generated scripted videos (under two minutes) with Candy characters, separate from chat.
- Creator digital twins: Candy now hosts 'digital twins' of real content creators, which it says are made with their consent, with exclusive paid content.
- Proactive media ('Realistic' mode): Some characters send photos, voice notes and videos unprompted; you can switch this off in the chat window.

What you get free
- A free account can send 5 messages in total, across all characters, create one custom character and generate one image. The homepage calls this a free trial; there is no ongoing free plan.
- Live Action is for paying members only.
What tokens buy
Chat on a paid plan never costs tokens. In-chat images on 'show me' prompts are switched on by default and do spend tokens; you can turn them off. Token pack prices are only shown after sign-in.

What Candy AI allows
- Explicit content is allowed: the homepage sells 'uncensored' experiences and the Premium Plus tier lists 18+ image generation.
- Banned: CSAM and anything resembling minors (attempts are flagged, reviewed and removed; known CSAM is reported to NCMEC).
- Banned: non-consensual intimate imagery and deepfakes of real people.
- Also banned: bestiality and animal abuse, illegal drugs content, terrorism, hate speech, obscene content under local law, and jailbreaking the moderation.
- Users cannot upload content; chats and images are private to each user.
- The help center says moderation systems may limit some interactions whatever the character settings.
Age rules and verification
- Minimum age is 18, or the local age of majority.
- The default age check is a self-declaration age gate: you affirm you are over 18.
- Depending on your location, Candy may run a third-party age estimation or ID check. The privacy notice says so but does not name the provider.
- The terms let Candy ask you to verify or re-verify that you are an adult at any time.
- No App Store or Google Play age rating applies, because there is no official app.

Privacy: what happens to your chats

- Who can read your chats
- Human moderators review content and users that the automated moderation flags or that you report. Chat content is also randomly sampled for quality assurance, and the guidelines say communications may be monitored for quality. Staff are listed as recipients of personal data 'as needed'. The underage and blocked-content policies say chats are 'generally confidential' but flagged content and other content on the account may be manually reviewed.
- Training on your chats
- Your chats are used to train Candy's AI and moderation models; preparing training data may include humans reviewing de-identified chats. The terms grant EverAI a perpetual licence to use your content to train its AI models and for marketing.
- Sharing with third parties
- Third-party LLM providers and moderation tool vendors may receive the content of your messages.
- Selling your data
- The notice says personal data is not sold or transferred without consent (where required), and marketing sharing outside EverAI needs opt-in.
- How long they keep it
- Account data is kept for three years after your last activity (possibly shortened to one year), or until you ask for deletion; payment records are kept ten years. Financial records are kept for ten years for tax and accounting.
- Deleting your data
- Deleting a conversation is permanent, and you cannot clear a chat's history without also wiping that character's memory of it.
- Encryption
- Candy claims encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) only. The end-to-end encryption claim that was on the homepage until September 2026 is gone.
- What the store privacy labels say
- No App Store or Play Data safety label exists for Candy, because there is no official app. The Play 'Candy AI' lookalike's label (no data collected, data can't be deleted) belongs to an unrelated developer.
Renewal, refunds, cancelling and deleting your account
- Renewal: The yearly and 3-month plans renew automatically at the same price and term; the monthly plan's $9.99 first month renews at $13.99. Candy may raise prices, but says it will tell you before a renewal at the new price.
- Renewal: Yearly subscribers are charged once a year and get their 100 tokens every month. Plan changes take effect at the next billing date, and plans cannot be paused.
- Renewal: The charge shows as EverAI on your statement; local taxes may be added.
- Refunds: Subscriptions: within 24 hours of payment, card only, and not once more than 20 tokens are used. Token packs: within 24 hours, card only, and not once used.
- Refunds: Cancelling does not refund anything by itself; you have to contact support. No refunds when characters or features are removed or changed.
- Cancelling: Cancel any time from Settings. Premium stays until the end of the period you paid for, and deleting your account also cancels the subscription.
- Your account: To delete: log in, open My Profile, then Settings, scroll to the 'Danger Zone', click Delete Account and confirm.
- Your account: Deletion makes your data unavailable, but some data is kept for legally required periods.
- Your account: Deleting the account before the renewal date also cancels the active subscription, per the help center.
- Your account: To cancel a subscription without deleting the account, go to Settings, then Unsubscribe.

2026-10-02 Monthly plan now has an intro price: 'First month billed as $9.99', then 'renews monthly at $13.99', with 'Then $13.99/month' printed on the plan card. It still read $13.99 from the first month on 09-27. Yearly ($47.88) and 3-month ($26.97) unchanged and still renew at the same price and term. 2026-09-22 Privacy answer rewritten (first seen 09-22; the Internet Archive still shows the old one on 09-16), and Terms revised September 22. The homepage FAQ 'Is chatting with an AI Girlfriend private and secure?' used to say Candy 'uses end-to-end encryption to keep all AI GF conversations safe and confidential' and that 'Your data is never shared or sold'; it now says Candy uses 'industry-standard security measures, including encrypting data in transit using TLS 1.2+ protocols' and points to the Privacy Notice. The end-to-end claim and the never-sold line are gone, and so are the lines about controlling your chat history and two-factor authentication. The Terms of Service revision date moved August 17 → September 22, 2026, adding one clause: selected users may be offered 'rebates in bonus tokens equal to a percentage of tokens spent, subject to specified minimum spending thresholds', i.e. a spend-more loyalty rebate.
