Roger (ChatRoger): what it costs, what's free, and what it allows

Roger Premium costs $14.99 a month on chatroger.com, or $89.99 for a year paid upfront ($7.50 a month); there is no app-store version. Both include unlimited messages and 1,000 credits a month for images, video and voice. Signing up is free, but Roger does not publish what a free account gets.

What we checked: 4 pages on chatroger.com, with the prices re-read from a US connection on 2026-10-03. Everything was read logged out and nothing was bought. We kept 39 quotes word for word (the receipts at the bottom) and a dated screenshot.

What we found

• The crossed-out $29.99 is not a price anyone pays. The monthly card says 'Limited time 50% off!' and, under the price, 'renews at $14.99/mo'. The yearly plan's 'Save 75%' is counted against twelve months at $29.99 ($359.88). Against twelve months at $14.99 ($179.88), the $89.99 year saves 50%.
• The 'Welcome offer' of 3,000 bonus credits sits next to a countdown that showed under 11 hours when we looked. It is not a deadline: the page's own code sets the offer to end on December 31, 2026 and shows only the hours, minutes and seconds left, so the clock starts again every day.
• Extra credits cost twice as much without Premium: 1,000 for $19.98 against $9.99, and 25,000 for $359.98 against $179.99. At the Premium rate of about a cent a credit, an image costs about 30 cents and a video about $1.
• The 1,000 monthly credits are enough for 33 images, 10 videos or 100 voice messages. Roger says credits from the plan and from packs never expire.

• Signing up is free. No public page says what a free account includes or where it stops.
• The upgrade page lists unlimited messages, better memory, voice messages, image and video generation, custom companions and live audio calls as Premium features, along with 'No watermarks on images and videos'.
• A free account can buy credit packs without subscribing, at twice the Premium price.

What credits cost and what they buy

Premium includes 1,000 credits a month. Credits are only taken when the content is generated. Live audio calls are paid with credits too, but the upgrade page gives no rate for them.

Renewal, refunds, cancelling and deleting your account

• Renewal: The monthly plan renews at $14.99. The yearly plan is one payment of $89.99, and the page does not say what it renews at.
• Renewal: Roger emails a reminder before each renewal with the amount and a link to cancel.
• Renewal: Roger can change the price. Its terms say it will tell you in advance and the new price applies from your next charge.
• Renewal: Payment is by Visa or Mastercard. The charge appears on your statement as Life AI Technologies.
• Refunds: You have 24 hours after paying to ask for a refund, by email, and only card payments can be refunded.
• Refunds: A subscription refund is refused once you have used more than 100 credits. Four images, at 30 credits each, already come to 120.
• Refunds: A credit pack refund is refused once any of the purchased credits are used.
• Refunds: If Roger closes your account for breaking its rules, you get nothing back. If it closes the account for another reason, such as shutting the service down, prepaid subscription fees are refunded pro rata.
• Cancelling: On the Account page, open Payment & Billing, click Manage Subscription, then Cancel Subscription.
• Cancelling: Premium stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Then the account goes back to the free plan and keeps whatever credits are left.
